You're talented, intelligent and write better than Shakespeare... but is it enough?

One of the best proven ways to make money online is to write an ebook and sell it via a web page. The Ebook must be well presented, simple but entertainng to read, and give relevant information that benefits the reader in a clearly defined way. There are countless Ebooks for sale and for free, ready to be downloaded. Their authors have slaved and sweated, crafting their text and passing on their wisdom with care and craftsmanship. So why don't they sell? Why are these masterpieces of educational e-manship left on their author's hard-drives un-purchased, un-downloaded and un-read?

It's a one word answer. Marketing...

You can have the best product in the world, you might have discovered the secret to eternal youth or earthly happiness or unravelled the mysteries of online abundance, but it will do you no good at all unless everybody knows about it.

It's galling to know that there are many mediocre ebooks out there on the web that sell and sell because they're effectively and constantly marketed. Whereas I'm sure there are great ebooks that will never see the light of day because their authors haven't grasped the simple truth about e-commerce: Marketing Sells Products.

Start Right...

In fact, marketing is so important than many reputable online marketeers START with a marketing campaign and create an ebook to fulfil the needs addressed and benefits promised by that campaign.

And there's nothing wrong with that! Define the needs your ebook will satisfy BEFORE you write it. How could the potential reader benefit from buying the Ebook? Decide BEFORE you write your Ebook and make those satisfied needs and customer benefits the themes your marketing campaign is based on.

Spread the Word...

How should you get the word out? How do you let everyone know what needs your ebook fulfils and the benefits it gives the reader?

First, your sales page. The more information the better. Build trust, publish testimonials, give a money-back guarantee and highlight the emotional response. How will it feel to benefit from this book? How will it feel when those needs are satisfied?

Get Writing...

To drive traffic to your sales page I recommend writing articles. There are lots of ways to get visitors but writing and submitting articles to online article directories is simple and effective. Review the ebook. Write articles about the topics covered in the ebook. Let the readers know how the ebook will benefit them and how it will satisfy their needs.

So... don't hide your talent!
