How To Maximize Email Open Rates
By: Ryan Price

Once you've got a minimum of 100 subscribers you're ready to analyze your email open rates with some accuracy. Firstly, I advocate you scrutinize your email inbox and take a note of the emails that you simply open.  Take a note of who they are from, what subject lines they're using and what vogue of emails they write (long, short, stories, recommendations etc.)  This can form the idea of the type of emails that you'll begin to test with.

Next, I advocate you write and load your autoresponder with at least twenty emails. Use the previous step to jot down your subject lines and emails.

Take note of and use subject lines from the emails you open.  For your particular topic or niche, are there certain words or phrases that catch your eye when you're browsing your inbox? Also think about personalizing the subject line with the subscribers name. Another tip is strive to trigger the readers curiosity, this could entice them to open your email. Do not fall into the trap of making an attempt to put 'spammy' keywords in your subject line like 'free' 'ebay' 'password' or exclaimation marks, excessive punctuation isn't only unnecessary but also annoying. Additionally you'll want to optimize your from name so that recipients can quickly establish who sent them the email before deciding whether to open it or delete it.

Once you have had a minimum of a hundred subscribers receiving your 1st 20 emails you should take a look at your five lowest performing emails and change the topic line and/or content of that email.

Then after another a hundred subscribers receive your emails check their performance again.  Still rewrite the topic lines of the five worst performing emails and you may notice your open rates will begin to rise.

You can additionally use this time to enhance your click through rates.  That means when a subscriber opens your email there can be more individuals clicking on your link inside the email.
